Its 24 years old and in great shape, but front site keeps vibrating loose. Should I locktite it or buy a new one or new screw? I've used a touch of paint once around the threads, but didn't hold. With the eye, the threads in the barrel look ok. Old screw threads look ok too.
Thanks,
Chad

Degrease the hole and the screw threads real good.
Then put blue loctite on them and tighten it down. Should fix the problem.

Just get some Blue Loctite that is all you need, DO NOT use the RED or you may never get the screw out again.

The Blue is also known as #242. It comes in a red bottle but the sealant has a blue color to it. Be sure to degrease the hole and screw before application of the sealant. Allow 24 hours before use for the sealant to cure completely. Many auto parts stores carry this item too.

If it ever has to come out again, Loctite softens as it gets hotter, use a good soldering iron on high directly on the screw head. It may take a few minutes but that will soften the Loctite and allow the screw to come out.
I'll get some blue tomorrow...thanks
