I'm a new member to this site, and new to Bullseye shooting.
I have shot NRA & IHMSA Metallic Silhouette with Contender Pistols
for quite a few years but never got into Bullseye shooting.
Im considering buying a Mark III 6 7/8 Hunter this weekend, would this be a decent choice to start with. I plan on ordering the Volquartsen Mark III
upgrade package and installing it once I become familiar with the Mark III
and have a few hundred rounds through it. Will also install a Ultradot Scope
since my 60 year old eyes don't see like they used to.
Question is do I have to shoot all three handguns in order to compete ?
I would rather just stay with the 22 for awhile before investing in a 45 ACP.

No, you can use the 1911 for both the centerfire and .45 portions of a 2700 match. You will have to use the rimfire and a 1911, you'll just use the same pistol for two stages. If your not planning on shooting a 2700 (three gun) match then you'll be able to find bullseye matches that just use rimfires for the stages. NRA Gallery courses are a good example of a rimfire only competition. Some others use two gun for competition with a rimfire and a centerfire for the course stages.
