Scope for the .22/45

Okay... I admit that my eyes are slippin'! I bought the .22/45 MKIII 5.5 inch bull barrel. I intended to teach my daughter to handle handguns. She isn't real pushy and we aren't in a home where daily target practice would sit well with neighbors. One or 2 rimfire shots ever so often is fine thus far.
For not much money what is a fair pistol scope for the rimmy? Max range would be only about 50 yards for bunny and squirrel hunting...

Are you looking for crosshairs or will a dot scope do?

I am most familiar with c-hairs but would consider a dot. I do not want any battery powered devices though. Optical clarity with a max power of 4-6X Is what I am guessing...

If battery power is out, then a cross hair reticle or mil dot scope is in. You can find some inexpensive BSA rimfire pistol scopes for about $60. Midway USA has them
http://www.midwayusa.com/rewriteaproduct/461634 These would be fine for bunny hunting.

This might be a little much but it is capable of 1/4 inch goups of 5 shots at 25 yards if the ancient one does his job.

And if you can hit them with that one, then you could always club them with it.

That is what is known as a multi purpose weapon, or the 1911 in my back pocket.

Here is my 22/45 with a Bushnell Trophy 2-6x32 - She normally wears a red dot sight. Scope works better on a longer barrel, IMO...

You can use it as a club, assuming you can lift it.
I have a 4x pistol scope. I'd suggest nothing stronger than a 2x scope unless you intend to shoot from a rest. The 4x really magnifies wobble and shake.
I also wanted to keep the rear sights on my MKIII with the scope. Took a while to find rings tall enough to allow that. Take a look at the scope fit and length. I found some inexpensive NCStar rings that did what I wanted and replaced the Burris rings.

Actually that pic is with the smaller scope, a 2.5-10 on it should post a pic of the bigger scope. Pretty much have to shoot that one rested after detaching it from the limber and removing the undercarriage.

Here it is with the bigger scope a Tasco 6-24x42AO and a target shot at 25 yards.
