Received my parts for my MKIII 22/45 make over. Went ahead and ordered the VQ MKII kit along with the Clark trigger and bushing kit. I like the feel of the Clark Trigger but noticed that it does not come with a pre-travel screw like the VQ trigger. Comments from someone on how much trigger travel will the Clark trigger have verses the VQ where you can adjust it out?

The Clark trigger doesn't have the pretravel screw because the trigger itself is oversized and requires fitting for installation. This means that the front edge of the trigger has to be carefully shaved to make it operate properly in most pistols. Basically you remove metal until the trigger operates as if a pretravel screw was adjusted into perfect operation. The sides of a Clark trigger may also need fitting to ensure that it moves smoothly within the frame's trigger well.

I agree. I drilled and tapped my Clark trigger for a pre-travel screw, and ended up having to leave it out. Once the fitting was done, there was no need for one.

How do you folks that have the Clark Triggers like them? Are there any issues mating with the VQ Sear and other parts??? I like the looks of the Clark Trigger and I really like my Clark Hammer Bushing and Pin, for what it's worth.

The Clark trigger is oversized and will need fitting to operate properly in your Ruger 22 frame. This means filing some of the surfaces to fit.

Interesting; I didn't need to fit either of my Clark triggers to my Mk. IIs...well, no, I take that back--I took the trigger bar and worked it into the hole in the trigger pretty hard until it operated smoothly. That was it.

Not everybody has to do much fitting with a Clark trigger, but there's enough tolerance spread in the Ruger frames that most do have to fit one thing or another.
