Very likely, Len. You also have to consider global warming, seems to be responsible for everything else. Michigan has and is close to the big iron ore deposits that play havoc with compasses. I'm sure it affects lead pellets. I use that excuse when I shoot in Kazoo. My kids keep muttering something about old age, but I'm saving that one until I really need it.

I shoot a mix of CCI SV and Federal Value Pack (36 gr HP). The CCI's are about $3/brick more, so I'm not exactly breaking the bank shooting them. I believe I see a difference in all my rimfires between the two and it is more pronounced in some. For example, when I shoot the Federals in my 22A, I get some high flyers that are not all due to Toy's reasons 1-3, because I don't see them with CCI SV. The MKIII's don't seem to be as affected, but my tightest groups are with SV. At 50 yards in my Glenfield Mod 60, the SV ammo gives me half the group size.

I have several cases of Eley Tenex that I use for serious competition. The stuff's too expensive for local matches and general plinking. On a bullseye target at 25 yards there's enough room for groups that are a little opened up.

I use lots of RWS in my Standard rifle for 3 Position Smallbore rifle.

Never really got into the Lapua.

Your "cheap" stuff is about 10x my "good" ammo and your several cases of Tenex is about the cost of a semester for my youngest. But then, back in the dark ages a buddy of mine dropped more on a wholesale Anschutz than it cost me for about a year in school. He would have had weeks of depression if he shot the scores I was extactic about.
