My guess would be the owners were asking for one. Owner with the big brother sometimes want something to shoot that is the same weight and balance. 22 ammo is <$0.05 as avg where 357 is what $0.25 if your shooting reloads less if shooting lead.

Ruger has nothing that competes with the S&W and Taurus .22 DA revolvers. Resurrecting the SP101 .22 gets them back in the market. I suspect they will be very competitive with the 317 and M94. Nice kit gun.

Saw just one at the Richmond Gun Show today. Good looking revolver. Dealer wanted $559 for the .22 and $430 for the .357 version. More than I felt like spending today.

The 63 will use traditional grips, and likely has a better trigger. A little more pricey, though.
At least the original .22 SP looked original. I wish Ruger would have copied their own gun instead of someone else's. I would have liked the reissue to be more of a .22 LR Speed-Six.

at least ruger put the excellent adjustable sight from the gp100/redhawk on this one. for a msrp of $100 less the ruger looks pretty good...

Is it just me but a Ruger 22 that sells for what their 357 sells for just seems like Ruger is starting to take advantage of the move to the 22lr that many are making. Does anyone know if the 22 is built on the same standard as the 357 because if it isn`t then Ruger has overpriced this gun, unless street price is close to $425, anyone think this is where the 22 will sell at.
Don`t get me wrong I like the SP101, I really like my GP 100 but the gp can be had for about $500 and the sp for less than $450
