You're belatedly welcome Tbag. I cannot count how many times I get that. I bet I get two or three emails a month from someone who read my help pages and solved a problem. I get one or two panicked messages for help too. I help everyone to the best of my abilities, usually it works out for the best.

I had one just a few weeks ago where a guy had a mag stuck backwards in his Mark III. Two different local gunsmiths said it would have to be sent back to Ruger. I sent him a few remedies and he was back up and running that night. Very nice fella who was very grateful.

The forum Q&A's for repairs are always interesting. Some seem obvious and some are the "if I could just look at it" types. I'm amazed at how well the solutions are supplied. I've joked about a box of gun parts looking for a smith, but I'm more than half serious. If I get in over my head, I wouldn't be embarrassed at all at finding someone who knew what he was doing.

Some of the Q&A's remind me of a story a boat mechanic told me. He spent 20 minutes on the phone with a guy who called and said his boat was "broke" and needed fixing. Took the whole time to figure out that "broke" meant two boat halves in 40 feet of water.

I had ejection problems with a Mark II and no one could find the problem. New springs, ejector, etc. Then I bought a ultrasonic cleaner and dropped it in it (with heat) for 12 minutes and the problem went away. NO ONE can figure what caused it or how it went away. Just a thought. I got it at Harbor Frieght for $79. They are running 20% off discounts now.

A deep cleaning like that meant that most likely your extractor plunger must have been gunked up. There also could have been some lead shavings or possibly residue in the extractor recess in the barrel. Either way you've got it solved now.

You kind of gotta wonder where the Greener went wrong? Underwater is for fishes, turtles and seals and so forth.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

I'm glad he doesn't do dangerous things, like be on a SWAT team or coach little league. In fact, I think SWAT is safer than little league.

The Little Leaguers aren't the threat, it's the parents you got to watch out for in that situation, they get way to involved.

Have your track shoes on if you mispronounce a Polish kid's name over the PA at a wrestling meet. Angry moms are a force to be feared.

Ammo?

My MKII started acting up this week. Thought it needed cleaning, but when I field stripped it tonight, it didn't. The only thing I can think of is that I was the ammo I was shooting.

Angry Polish Moms are the worst. I speak from experience, if you got out of line, you got it. Come to think of it Mom and Dad were both sweet as long as you kept up your end.

I hear you. I can't even pronounce some of those names correctly. I've seen some of those names with two vowels and 14 consonants in them.

I think he is talking about my mother-in-law!

and my wife says SWAT is too dangerous, so she let me do SCUBA... she thinks it is safer.
