Remington Thunderbolt .22's SN 40 gr. FTF

My son showed up Friday night with the bulk packs as promised. Turns out they are Federals.......I am pleased. Don't know why he thought they were too "greasy". They don't seem any worse than regular boxed Federals. Anyway, I now have another 800 rounds, or so. Things are looking up.

I am glad I bought those cases of Aguila SV and Eley when I did. I have quite a bit of older Remington and Peters SV. It doesn't lead at all.

Federal bulk shoots well in my rugers. You should have fun with those.

Thunderbolts are junk ammo. I won't shoot them in any of my RF guns. They WILL lead up your barrels something fierce.

However, I find the Remington Subsonics to be excellent ammo that is super accurate out of both my Ruger and my Tac Sol Pac Lite barrels. Of course, the price of this ammo is not cheap.
I also have an old 1929 H&R .22 Special 9 shot top break revolver that shoots Remmy Bulk Pack Golden Bullets into dime sized groups at about 20 yards. There are quite a few FTF due to the bad priming though. Being its a revolver this isn't such a big deal.

I check for ammo every time I go by a WW. It is hit and miss, mostly miss. As bad as it is I will not buy Remingtons for the reasons that everyone has stated. I have experienced the same things. I spoke with the clerk at WW recently concerning the Remingtons. He admitted that he gets a lot of complaints about them.

The last time I had any RGB's at least a third of the casings would expand in my single six and took a lot of effort to remove them. I bought them because they seemed to be the ammo of choice on the RFC Walther forum for the P22. Guess I have the only P22 that doesn't like them. Three boxes and some sort of problem with all three.

I bought one brick of T'bolts 3 years ago. Dirty ammo that gave me loading and firing problems in my 22A. Unlike the RGB's I didn't repeat the experience.

I bought some GB's years ago, hd problems and stayed away from Remington rimfire ever since.
Although there must be something good about Remington ammo, because they keep making and selling it and people keep buying it. If it was all bad, they would have lost their butt years ago. I know Ruger pistols have tighter bore and this will cause leading problems.

A buddy and I went to the range yesterday morning to shoot our carry guns and some rimfire. He had his 22/45 and was using Thunderbolts. You could noticeably hear the difference in those rounds. Some of them sounded like shorts.

I noticed the same thing in my brick. Some just "Pop". A few make no sound at all.
