Bullseye, that is exactly what the two good magazines look like when inserted. A space between the feed lips and the ejector of about the thickness of a paper match stick. The offending magazine's feed lip actually touches that ejector. I'm going to file off enough of the bump so that there is a similar gap and then I'm going to go to the range with it again.

BAOM, that was a good suggestion and I thought about giving it a try, except that I already knew the two good mags didn't cause the problem, so the more I examined it, the more it became obvious that the mag was touching the ejector.

BTW Bullseye, that is a really good photo. Makes it easy to see what is going on in there.

Right, but it made you look and think and find the problem. Luckily I have never had a mag problem with 3-22/45 Mark II''s and a total of 12 magazines. Have had mag problems with my High Standard with other than factory mags, but that is a know going to happen.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Adjusting the mag height should solve your problem with that troublesome magazine.

Well, I filed on the mag again today and the gap between the ejector and the feed lips, is similiar to the good mags. I will give it a try again sometime this week and report back on the results.

I took the offending magazine and pistol to the range today. The results was near perfection. Out of roughly 200 rds fired from this magazine, only two ejection failures. One was similiar to the FTEs that I was experiencing prior to filing the magazine retention dimple (this was after the initial filing I performed just to get the magazine to latch in the firearm). With the brass in the classic stovepipe configuation. The other FTE was completely different with the empty brass lodging between the face of the bolt and the breech face (length wise).

I suspect that these two FTEs may have simply been a result of the gun being dirty from a total of around 500 rds. I'm quite pleased with such a low FTE rate.

Thanks for the help.

I'm glad to hear it is working for you. Sounds like you've got it all tuned up.
