Hak, I mentioned that you were lucky to find the Contour Lite with only 2-3 weeks to wait for delivery. Then after you placed your order they changed your delivery to 90 days  I don't believe them even at that because when I tried to buy my first one the dealers didn't have inventory, but all wanted me to place the order. I finally bought a non rail model in stock and on sale $289 and added a TacSol rail $60(has the rear sight) and it is a sweet shooter. Of course, you may be lucky and get the one that you have on order. I hope that you do as they are a nice addition. Regards

Yea, I sure was looking forward to it, but I think I'm going to cancel the order. I really don't think they know when it's gonna be in. The salesman said "it could be 90 day, or more". I figure it would be closer to the 90 days or more base on the demand society is putting on guns these days. I am looking for a 1911, so maybe I'll cancel the 22 and invest it into a 1911.
thanks, haka

I think I might just do that OM, just go out and get what I want and stop fiddling around. I have been know to buy on the "spur of the moment" situations. We have a swap meet coming up on March 7th at our club, maybe I can pick something up there. This is the website to the home page for our club. It shows the different functions and committees, along with our monthly newsletter the "plaid and khaki" : http://www.d-s-c.org/index.html
Well, with a little imagination, it's sunny and 73 degrees out (maybe alot of imagination). Oh well  but today is march 1st, and we have licked the most dreary days of winter. "Think Spring"!!! OM, tell me a little bit about the ranges you shoot on, it sounds quite unique.
thanks, hakaman

Remember to beware the ides of Maarch, whatever that means. Try this link to get to the club I shoot pistol and rifle at http://www.bridgeportgunclub.com
We have a 7 yard Self defense range, 25, 50 and 100 yard all outdoors. they have 2 trap fields and and archery course, also a 50 foot indoor range that is used for Bullseye and practice one night a week. The club is big into fish fries sot the indoor range is not open but that one night. I also belong to the Saginaw Gun Club and have for many year and have been and still on the board of directors. We used to have and outdoor range and an indoor range.
The outdoor range was closed years ago as it was not up to standard and could not be upgraded without a lot of money, indoor range did not support itself so we rented the building out to a taxidermist. SGC has a five-stand, 4 skeet fields, 3 trap fields and a 12 station sporting clays course. Mostly skeet and sporting clays shooters these days. Never been to DSC but a lot of the guys here do the refistered skeet shoots at Detroit Gun Club. Benn looking at gallery of guns and there do not seem to be many SA'a available, you should be able to buy a Taurus for under $600.00
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Well, I guess this thread is a waste of time. I just canceled the order on the BuckMark Contour. I didn't feel like waiting 90 days and "maybe" get the gun. In fact, I don't like waiting for something I buy at all. I like paying when I buy, and getting what I pay for, very simple. I would have really liked to have had the contour, but oh well. My focus now has shifted to the Ruger .22lr/.22WMR single six 6.5" sa.
haka

ps.......I might just surprise someone and actually buy a gun instead of just talking about it!

ARE YOU SURE???????
I am keeping an eye open for them Ides of March, but I am not sure I would know one if I did see one.
I d not like to order especially guns although I have bought a couple of shotguns that way from private owners and one handgun through Gunbroker and had no problems. I would much rather look at, it hold it, pay for it and walk out the door with it.
Sopping in the morning to pick up Henry, want me to see if they have a single six for you?

If it's not any trouble, please do. I found I can get the Springfield for $870 from Guns Galore in Fenton. I am going to see what the Spring gun show has this weekend at the DSC. Maybe something there. I have my "purchase permit" ready and waiting.
thanks , haka

Checked with a friend/dealer just North of me a ways and he does not have one in stock but he gave me a price of $430.00 if he can find one.

Picked up Henry just before noon this morning and went to the range, gun shoots fine, have doubts about the shooter. That fine black front sight is hard for this oldman to see but kept them in a 2 inch black target at 25 feet. Not to bad for guessing where the front sight is.

Yes he has a Single Six Convertible .22LR/.22Mag, stainless steel, adjustable sights. 6-1/2 inch barrel and I held it in my hand so I know it is real, marked $449.95 and is a new gun. He also had a blued on but it may have had a shorter barrel.

Hi OM,
I was wondering how your Henry worked out for you? I don't think you could have asked for a better day weather wise. I got 63 deg's, and sunny, just a gorgeous day. Did you tear the black out of the target?
Also, thanks for looking at the Ruger price, but, believe it or not, Guns Galore has one in stock for $429, just as I wanted. I think this weekend I will have a new baby in the arsenal, just not sure what it's gonna be yet. I think the reason Guns Galore gets em so cheap is they must buy in bulk. When I inquired about my the Browning, they said they wait til they have at least $10,000 worth of requests to a particular manf before the order anything. It reminds me of a Meijer store, buy in bulk, sell to customer for less.
63deg, and sunny in the Northern parts of Detroit (not a fantasy either)
Haka

Hak, still 60 degrees here and according to the weatherbug it did get to 61 today. Yes, picked up Henry and got to the range about noon, bright and sunny but just a bit windy. Can keep them in the black, but that black front sight is hard for this oldman to see, but Bear and I had a great time. Got a scope rail for Henry, and have scopes and/or red dots that we can put on it. May modify the front sight with a HiViz light pipe like I have on a lot of my guns. The green ones sure do stand out against a black target. Don't think anyone in Michigan can match o beat the prices at Guns Galore, they buy enough to g direst to the manufacturer and not through a distributor like other dealer have to do. Used to work at a hardware and we could buy from distributors but our price was very little less that anyone can buy for there.
My dealer also has a 4-5/8, blued with adjustable sight for $399.95
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.
