Dirty chamber
The cases get stuck pretty good. They peel off the extractor and jam between the loaded chamber indicator and the recoil spring rod.
A new, or low mileage, chamber is a problem. They come from the factory rough and fouled. Who wants to field strip a new Ruger Mark III? I did, nasty chamber.
In any event srub that barrel until it shines. Buy a BoreSnake. The jams, and severity of jams, will decrease over time.
