MKII Grips

I recently bought a MKII SS 5.5" bull barrel to go with the MKII Blue 5.5" bull barrel and the SS Standard MKII that I own. I'm looking for set of target grips for my new acquisition. I like the look of the various sets of wood target grips that I've seen but I'm kinda' leaning toward a set of VQ or Hogue rubber grips. Can anyone steer me one way or the other ?

The hogue grips fit my hand better and are a lot less expensive than the others.

The Hogues are great. You can't beat the price for a set and they're very comfortable too.

i went online to ruger store & got the houge raparounds. they have a good solid grip & very comfortable. i have them on my mark 2

I like the feel of the Hogue's. These are very comfortable grips and a really good deal for the price.

I also am thinking about new grips. I really like the wood grips but in the long run I might be happier with the rubber ones. Ruger does not carry rubber grips for the Mark lll, and the VQ grips are 60 bucks. Seems a lot for grips. Also are the rubber grips bulkier? I do not have large hands and if they are fatter then the original, they would not work for me. Any thoughts?

The Hogue grips are not bulky. They feel great. I hear that Ruger sells the Hogue grips with their emblems on it. I got mine from Hornet Products for $21.00 shipping and all. They don't have the Ruger emblem.

The new Hogue Mark II rubber monogrips all come with the proper cut-outs for the Mark III. Even if you were to get one that didn't have the cut out one easy mod to the underside and you're all set.

Here's a set of thumb rests on a Mark II.

Not too bulky, feels just right for a medium to large sized hand.

A 3/8th inch circle about 1/8th inch deep. The picture has the dimensions and the location shown on it. You can also get the Hogue rubber grips without a thumbrest design.

These are the ones I put on my pistol. I wanted the ones with the thumb rest but my girlfriend likes to shoot this gun and is left handed. No thumb rest. I do like the grips a lot. By the way, my girlfriend is very petite with small hands and the grips are not too large for her. We are still trying to find her a Walther PPS for her CCW. She is comfortabl ewith that one with her small hands.
