Sometimes it seems that Remington "Yellowjackets" don't feed as smoothly as I think they should in both my Mark II and in my 77/22. Might the bullet shape be the cause of this?

Probably is the bullet shape.
I just don't like remington 22 ammo I always have a lot of missfires.

It could be the ammo not feeding properly. I have had so many problems with Remington rimfire ammo that I won't shoot it anymore. Try some different brands and see if your problems don't go away.
