NEW MEMBER WITH QUESTIONS

Post by parts guy » Mon Aug 18, 2008 8:39 pm

HELLO,
JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW I APPRECIATE ALL THE INFO I HAVE ALREADY LEARNED. JUST GOT 22/45 P512 AND HAVE APART NOW DOING CLEANING AFTER APROX 600 ROUNDS. I AM DOING LCI REMOVAL AND MAG SAFTEY DISCONNECT WITH VQ MARK 2 HAMMER AND BUSHING. DO I REALLY NEED THE SPRING IN THE ACCURIZING KIT TO GET GOOD TRIGGER PULL OR JUST THE SEAR. ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW THE THREAD SIZE OF THE FRONT SIGHT SCREW.
THANKS!

The front sight screw is 6-40.

the VQ sear comes with a new sear spring BUT on a 22/45 the instructions with the sear tells you NOT to use it on a 22/45.

Hope this helps.

You must re use your 22/45 sear spring with the VQ sear. The one provided in the kit is for a Mark II/III metal frame.

If you're talking about the spring that goes into the top of the trigger, then either one will do. The the trigger return spring in the VQ kit will give you about four ounces less trigger pull. Most folks find that if they use the one in the kit for the trigger return spring they may have a trigger pull just under two pounds.

Hope this helps.
