I don't have a drill press. Maybe I can rig something up with my hand drill and a c-clamp.

Bullseye,
Can I order the buttons from Ruger...or possibly some place online?

Oops! That for the MKII!

Anyone know if it'll work in the MKIII 22/45 magazines?

Those follower buttons will work for the Mark III. A02512 is the part number for the follower buttons for all of the Ruger Series 22 Auto Pistols (Mark I through Mark III including 22/45).

I just installed the new follower button into the mag that gave me some trouble. It's much smoother now; huge difference. 99cents well spent. 8)

Good news. Have you range tested it yet?

I will tomorrow! It feels much smoother already. Geez, after you take those mags apart twice, you can take em down, replace the follower and get them back together in about a minute!

I agree. Like a lot of things, once you get them apart a time or two, they're relatively simple. There's not too many parts in the magazines and breaking them down and reassembling them is just a few minute job.

I hope the range session goes well.

It went great! No problems with this magazine anymore! It was in the upper 20's this morning, and I had no feed issues whatsoever.

Since the followers are only 99cents, I ordered two. I now have a spare just in case.

Again that is great news. I'll bet if you inspect the retrograde follower button closely you'll see some irregular metal or shiny spots where the drag was coming from in the follower slot. You may even be able to polish it out and then you'll have two spares.

I think that's what I'll do. It will never hurt to have two extras on hand.

Just mark the suspect one in some way. This way if you install it and it starts acting up again you'll know it was originally the retrograde follower and not the new replacement.

Yet another good idea! I swear, I pick up a good tip daily on this board. :D
