'which Federals' ?? ie. the 'load number'
I use a LOT of Fed#510-Champions and Fed#AM22-AutoMatch
with no feed/crud issues in my MK2 or Marlins...
but if 'Rem' works... I'm happy for your pistol :P

Yep, and in a 1022 taget build the Fed Auto Match is unbelievable.

The Federals I use are the Value 550 pack. The ones that are close to the Rem Golden bullets in price. That is what I was comparing them to.

There was a lot of this going back and fourth on another forum.

I thought the bulk pack Federal's were better, until I actually tried the Golden Bullets. Turns out, over all, they were the better bullet! And the funny thing is, after listening to everybody tell everybody else how bad they were, I was expecting them to be worse.

They do have a bigger "blast" out of the barrel, and I'm suspecting that those bullets were designed for a rifle, not a pistol, longer burn time, hence, blast.

They are no more "dirty" than any other bullet, noting that a small paint brush won't take care of anyway. they are FILTHY though, in the fact that I have to clean my hands after every couple of magazine loadings.

But, there IS a whole lot of "follow the leader" out there, as far as bad mouthing GB's goes.

They are just like ANY OTHER BULLET. They may work in your gun, they may not. But, there is NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM.

Snake57(?) I think it was, did some extensive testing on them, and came up with almost exactly the same results I did.

This is one of those bullets, like the Thunderbolt, that many people just seem to absolutely HATE. Any other round, and they'll say, yeah, it's fine, but they just don't work in my gun.

But with these, it's "They're garbage! Don't touch 'em!" and more of the same. It's really weird.

Anyway, I don't particularly care for 'em. They work fine, and jam less than the Federal's. But I'm just looking for something better, less blast really.

I'm testing out the Aguila right now, just standard stuff, and they do have less blast and seem to shoot very well. But they're more pricey than the bulk pack Fed's or Rem's.

I've been looking, but any bullet with "pistol" in the name, is a "match grade". There's got to be pistol specific rounds, that don't cost an arm and a leg.

I never really had aproblem with the "dirty" factor with the RGB's, or the blast. In my Pac-Lites and in my MKII they function just fine. As far as accuracy goes they are better than me in both as proven by shooting off of a rest. My only issue with them has been the tendency for them to get stuck on the feed ramp of my MKIII. Maybe the haters of this ammo haven't tried using them in multiple firearms. I also have several thousand rounds of the ThunderBolt. I have had problems with it leading up in my pistols. However, for my stock rifles, it is a great round for general plinking. If I am going to get serious about shooting that day, the CCI Mini Mag's seem to group the best for me offhand in my longer barrels, and the Wolff seems to group best both out of my rifles and out of my shorter barreled actions. I had problems with ANY ammo hitting the feed ramp on a 22/45 I had. Drove me crazy, so I finally took that one back and got the SS Hunter Target. Not a problem since.

One thing I was thinking of though.

The Rem GB's do have a large "blast". Makes me wonder if they were designed for a rifle, or long barrel. I've got a 6 7/8" barrel, and on a short barrel, it might be even worse.

But in a long gun, it might be even better.

I've been looking at ammo, and the only ammo that says it's specifically for a pistol, is in the "match grade" stuff. And not many of them do.

So I'd like to find some 'pistol' specific ammo, and I'm wondering if the GB's are a problem in short guns because of they're designed for a long barrel.

Sorry, I avoid anything with "Remington" and "ammo" on it like the plague. I have shot a lot of pistol specific ammo in long guns and on the other hand rifle match in pistols with little or no difference between them. I like SK Rifle Match in my M41's. I've had real good performance from CCI-SV and Federal AM-22 Pistol, try giving these a turn in your pistol and perhaps the functioning will improve.

You can't beat CCI SV for a reliable, reasonably priced, readily available ammo. Seems to shoot good in any of my rifles or pistols, yes some ammo will out shoot it but is the accuracy proportionate to the cost? Twice the price should be twice as accurate eh?
Bulleye, it may be time to take a drive through Hell one of these days with the fall Michigan colors the countryside should be a real treat.
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

I always love the fall season but a trip to Hell, MI is not in the cards for this year. I'm always so busy this time of year I rarely get a chance to go for leisure trips. I did get out to a few matches but that's about the extent of it. I like going back to Ohio for the fall colors but I didn't make it this year. Sometimes I go to Miami, OH and take in a High Power rifle match in early October but I missed it this time around.

Nice place ti visit but Don't think I would want to live there. Toy, that is something only Michigan can claim, being the only state in the Union to have a town by that name. Sorry but you can not go to Hell in Texas, but if you ever get up North, we can go ther eand have a beer, get a T shirt and have an ice creqam con in downtown Hell.
