Model 41 barrel
Does anyone have any experence with Jim Clark's 5.5" barrel on a model 41. I would like to change from the 7" I have. Thanks
The Clark barrels are nice. There's another guy who sells some nice barrels too. http://bullybarrel.ray-vin.com/frbarrels.htm These shoot really well.

Bullseye, is there an advantage to either one for 50' gallery match's
The big question is; How does your present barrel shoot? If it shoots fine then buying another one is kind of pointless. I've shot the 7" versions and if you're using iron sights the advantage is a longer sight radius. If your using optical sights the weight is slightly less for the longer barrel model. The 5.5" barrels are more stocky and a little heavier than the longer barrel versions. Accuracy-wise they're pretty much equivalent. Even more important; How does your present barrel function? Does it feed well? No extraction/ejection malfunctions? Getting a new barrel may mean tuning your pistol for reliability all over again.

Good point. My main concern is that when the slide closes the foward motion seems to pull the barrel down and off target. Not a huge problem but I thought it might be less with the shorter barrel. The lower mount for the red dot is also is a +. The reliablity issue is also a concern. The reason I bought the 41 is because my Supermatic Citation, while being very accurate will not function well enough to get through a match. At some point it will have to be sent out to have some issues resolved.
