Here is what I ended up doing. Thinking that the sear just might work in another pistol. I took a Mark I apart with a VQ sear that breaks at about 2 pounds. I swapped the sears and put the one that works in the Mark II and the one that did not in the mark I. It now works in the Mark I with a 4 Plus pound trigger pull. I have another Mark I that I want a VQ sear in I just may send both Mark I pistols to VQ and have them do it.

That means there very close, probably not off more than a few 0.001".
Did you by chance compare the 2 VQ sears?

Yes I looked at the two sears and they looked identical.

They have to be placed on a sear pin to compare completely. Here's a picture of a VQ and OEM sear for comparison.
Notice the VQ sear is slightly shorter than the OEM. The newer VQ sears are not and that's why the thumb safeties are hanging up.

Bullseye, could a person take a few thousants off the out of spec. sear, as your picture indicates, and would this solve the issue?

Possibly but I'd have to do a comparison first. The difficulty would be ensuring the engagement angles were maintained. A very difficult task without the proper sear honing fixtures.

Just received my MK II frame back from VQ. It now has a very nice 40 ounce trigger. They said I was doing every thing correctly. And that they had to replace the VQ trigger and modify the VQ sear to get it to work. These problems should not happen with drop in parts. But VQ customer service is great they did make my situation correct in a timely manner. I will continue to buy VQ parts.

That's great news! 40 oz. Is right in the range for those parts. I agree they need to sort out their manufacturing and qc problems.
