MKII trigger creep

Post by shelby1941 » Sun Apr 05, 2009 6:50 am

I recently obtained a MKII with a 5.5 bull bbl. Trigger pull is good (3-3 1/2 lbs) but has creep that is very irritating to me. Is the best fix an upgraded sear or trigger or both. If trigger is to be replaced should I go with the Volquartsen or Marvel ? Thanks in advance. Shelby Chastain

You can change to a VQ sear, this will reduce the trigger pull to about 2 to 2-1/4 pound's in my experience but it will do nothing to alter the travel of the trigger. You can alter the stock trigger by drilling and tapping it to add a pre travel adjustment screw, it already has an overtravel screw, the only problem is you have to remove the trigger pivot pin and partially remove the trigger to adjust the screws. You can change to a VQ trigger which will give you externally adjustable pre and over travel screws, the Marvel trigger I have no experience with. Hope this information is helpful
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.

Welcome to the forum!

Changing the sear and trigger will fix most of what you're feeling. You may end up with a little slack but only a very little. By getting a trigger with an adjustable over and pretravel you can reduce the travel of the trigger significantly. VQ or Marvel is of no consequence, pick the brand that feels best to your finger.
