Reminds me of a pivoting trigger system I saw from another gunsmith about 25 years ago that allowed for incredibly low feeling 1911 trigger pull weights. This system used a pivoting trigger that pushed against a separate trigger bow. These two parts were very lightweight and the pivoting action gave the feeling of a 1-2 lb trigger on a full sized, full power, hardball gun.

Would there be anything in the market now for a pistol? A friend finds his trigger rather heavy but doesn't want to bring it to a 'smith.

I haven't seen anything like it since then. I'm not sure if it was his own creation or if it was a commercial product.
