squirrel season

Post by swoter » Mon Sep 03, 2007 5:34 pm

Here in Ohio, squirrel season started last Friday. Had to work all weekend, so will be going tomorrow morning. Think I'll take the government model Mark 2 and try it out. It's plenty accurate, it's me I worry about!

Squirrel in September, Ducks in October, Deer the week after Thanksgiving, I miss those days stalking through the Butternut trees of Ohio. Spent most of my youth trekking through the woods and cruising the Cuyahoga and Grand rivers. Used to take my 20ga shotgun on breezy days and the Marlin Model 60 on the calm ones. Have fun!

Toy, you need to post your "squirrel hunters" picture again so swoter can see how it's done in Texas!

Squirrels 3, me 0. Saw 6 of the little buggers, got a shot at 3, and missed 'em all. Saw a nice doe about 20 yards away also. All in all was a decent morning, just felt good to get out in the woods again, and was a nice sunny morning. I've seen the picture of those squirrels from texas, and if we had any up here, I think I would give up hunting!

I had to use the "search" to find it...
You youngsters have a sharper memory than I do...

Now that is what I call funny. I saved it to send around even. LOL

Toy is the high speed, low drag operator with his foot on the neck of the beast in the picture. I've always said his ops are blacker than my ops!
