Today I was cleaning cosmoline off of a military rifle, a Yugoslavian SKS. I had a big blob of it on the end of a Q-tip, and decided to show the stuff to my wife.
"Look at this stuff..."
"Can you hear better now?"

That's funny. It does tend to look a bit like earwax when cleaned off.
