CCI Independence ammo?

I ran across some CCI "Independence" .38 Special, 130 gr FMJ at $21 a box, same price as Blazer FMJ, but it has brass casings. Never saw it before. That's a Maybe. I assume it might be better than Blazer?
Sportsman's Warehouse also had Hornady SD ammo at $19 for box of 25. That's a Maybe. Better prices than Gander. I'll get it figured out.
Biggest problem, Sportsman's, Gander, and three of my four LGS has not a single holster to fit a LCR. I hope the fourth is paydirt. A LCR won't fit most J-frame holsters because the trigger guard is larger.

Before I started reloading, I shot Independence, Blazer, Winchester (white box), all of it shot pretty well. At least I couldn't tell the difference in my shooting. I usually bought the lowest cost I could find: Dick's, Walmart, Georgia Arms (their reloads). No problem.
If you are going to use .357, some folks like the high dollar commercial stuff. Not sure it makes much difference.

Today I picked up the CCI Independence 130 FMJ, and a box of the Hornady XTP serious ammo. It's 125 grain. I'm hoping the 5 grain difference won't make much difference in POI.
The last LGS was luck for my choice in pocket holsters, a Nemesis. The Ruger Galco looks good for my belt, and I'll get 20% off for registering the LCR.
Also got two speed strips. Being an old fart, I'm used to HKS speed loaders, but the flat strips make sense for carry. Slower, but like thay say, five should be more than enough.
Now I got enough stuff to get me started. Ruger normally sets up sights for 25 yards, but maybe not for a snub. I'll check the sighting on the first range trip, whenever I manage that.

Sounds like you've got a pretty good start. You are doing much better in the self-control bit than me. I usually buy the gun and head for the range. My SR22 was the only exception in quite a while.
I had good luck with MagTech .38 ammo. WallyWorld generally has 100 round boxes of Winchester 130 grain FMJ at competitive prices. I haven't looked at the prices in quite a while.
