How many mags are enough?

I have a preference to have six magazines for a gun. I store and use them in pairs, and rotate their use.
So I have six Mark III mags, and twelve Bobcat mags. The 10/22 ended up with seven, as I bought a clear one for "educational purposes".
I agree there may be no such thing as too many, but how many are enough?

I use 6. That way I can pre-load up my magazines for a match course. Then I just have to grab a new one after firing a string. No loading up mags and thumbing in new rounds during the match.

Four/five at a minimum, but if multiple guns take the same mags, I don't multiply the mag supply, I just add another 2-3.
One is NOT enough, that's for sure, and the habit many manufacturers have of only putting one mag in the box is getting annoying.
I think my next new gun purchase will be from Springfield for this reason, in fact.

I use 10 mags for my Para for the service match of a PPC match. That way I can shoot without reloading mags. I have probably 20 moon clips for my 625 for the Combat match. I use 6 mags for my model 41 for Bullseye.

Since I don't shoot competition a couple is enough. I can only shoot one at a time in the pistols.
