I have finish my holster/bandolier for my Scoped MKIII. It is setup to be carried 3 different ways, std belt, tatical and bandolier. I find that I like the bandolier style better over the others due to the weight of the Scoped SS MKIII 6 7/8". I played with several positions and find I like it in the center of my chest best. When I sit down it does not get bumped. The shoulder strap can only be removed by removing 2 Chicago screws. I made this without a buckle not wanting to hang it on something and have it release. The chest/body strap does have a side release buckle. The scope's eye piece is also the retention for the gun. It is snapped to case so it can be removed completely if not needed. I have camo straps for it too. But I normally wear dark blue old work shirts, the reason this is showed with black straps. Then again when I'm setting in my chair blind, the furry tail rats can't see me. I have had the grays get within 3 ft of me. I wanted this to carry my MKIII with me while I carry/use my shotgun. The shotgun is my weapon of choice but there are may times I wanted to use a 22. But then again I'm trying to protect my dad's pecan trees, but they have me out numbered. If funny to watch the grays try to climb a tree with metal sheeting around the trunk. The first time they hit it running and just bounce and slide off. They are a little hard headed, they will do this 2-3 times at a min.
I have thought about making these for others but there are too many variables that makes it near impossible to do. Different sized scopes, positions, etc ..... If you live in my neck of the woods we can talk.
For those who have a case that needs straps, there is a company called
http://www.strapworks.com/. They have all the pieces needed to make most any thing up, no sewing required. Or if you want them sewn on they have premade straps, too. If you order anything make sure you add the 1lb scrap bag. This is strap material that are left overs from spools and jobs. All random lengths, any were from 2' to 30'. I was able to get a 50'+ of the light weight poly to go with the heavy weight I ordered. There prices are very cheap, but like most every thing the shipping charges add up.
