Hoarders

I stopped into Bass Pro Shop today to pick up some 243 ammo. They are "definitely" not as busy as the have been in the recent past. I get the feeling that the "ammo hoarders" have done their damage. Why buy a gun if you can't get ammo to shoot it? My question to hoarders: Why buy so much ammo that you will never use? The reason why, "selfishness". But this selfishness comes at a price: Shortage of ammo, and higher prices. I thought shooters existed in a sense of "brotherhood". Well, I'm having a hard time believing that right now. The clerk at BPS told me they got 10 boxes of 9mm in this morning, but it's all gone. He said a guy came in and asked for 2 boxes (that's all the clerk said he needed), but when he found out there was a 5 box limit, he upped his request to 5 boxes (hoarding). Let me ask, "Why not just take the 2 boxes you originally wanted??? Don't you know that other people might want to buy some too?
As I drove out of the mall complex I looked out the window and seen "Old Glory" waving in the breeze. It was a huge flag that stood out like a proud icon that it is. There was a part of me that was disappointed just the same. Disappointed that a sense of brotherhood doesn't exist like it used to. This country is the greatest country in the world, but I wonder what Abe Lincoln would think of the USA right now?

Have you tried different types of ammo. I have yet to make that extractor upgrade, I don't seem to have much of a problem FTE?

I finished off my last box of Remington goldens. They also functioned perfectly except for the usual high percent of FTF.
I really don't hoard ammo. I blow it out when I can get it

No offense taken Hak. Maybe I haven't given the goldens a fair chance but the last ones I bought were really bad.
Oldman, I am pretty sure that people are buying ammo at Wal-Mart and reselling. That is probably why we can't find any except occasionally.

Last thing I got for .22 was Fed bulk at Academy. It was pretty old stock, cost $12.80. The box was hidden behind a lot of CCI shotshells, I was able to see a corner of the box peeking out

Everyone working there was surprised they had one.
I haven't been shooting much .22 lately. Trying to get the crimp on my .45 ammo right. Yesterday I shot 210 rounds of .45. Talk about a DIRTY gun, and dirty shooting hand... Need more crimp...
