Took my .22 handguns out and fired all of them this afternoon: Ruger MKII/Aimpoint/Clark, Single Six and Colt Ace. Also took my Blackhawk Convertible with the .45 ACP cylinder in it. (Fella gave me a bunch of ACP reloads, but didn't know what the recipe was, don't want to take any chances with my Combat Commander.)
The shooting was fun and went well, other than a few problems with the Winchester Whitebox bulk ammo. Several FTF with the Ace (all fired on the second try) and a couple of FTE with the MKII (no idea why).
Weird thing is, I think I enjoyed stripping and cleaning all 4 weapons at least as much as I enjoyed firing them. I'm not quite sure what that says about me...
It's real apparent that the Ace doesn't like the White Box hollow points. LOTS of lead buildup in the floating chamber, had to tap it out with a brass mallet. I'm thinking I'll stick to CCI with that one.
Didn't see any crud buildup or other issues when cleaning the MKII, not sure why it missed the extractions. (2 or 3 out of 50 rounds fired)
All-in-all a good afternoon, cordite levels in the bloodstream back up to legal minimums, den/office/computer room now has a pleasing ambiance of Eau de Hoppes #9...
