Last Fall I bought several boxes of Remington Subsonics to give them a try. I kept track of those which failed to fire with a single, quality firing pin strike and the failure rate was 6%. Now, mind you, most of those fired after running them through the guns with a change of orientation, but nevertheless, I felt that 6% was an awful lot of "click with no bang".

Spoiled Hakaman was cursing the humid heat last summer, and now cursing the bitter cold. I guess I'm hard to please.

Not only the "click with no bang" but the many weak loads. Sort of like "half duds".

Had a brick of Rem subs U bought because the CCI subs shot so well, butmore fail to fires even after more than one hit, good hits too. Rem Thundercrap that a friend gave me but they were not much bettere. My S&W 1522 manual has Rems on their do not use list.

I've had less-than-happy experiences with thunder bolts and golden bullets, but nothing like the stories I hear. I've been able to avoid Remington .22 ammo for quite a while and hope to keep on avoiding it.

Would "Thunderduds" be another appropriate name for them?

Haka, that might do but I think Thundercrap or a derivative thereof is a better description. Greener, had the Thunderclap not been gift from a good friend of Bear's and mine, I would have conveniently left it on the bench at the range and donated it for public use.

This is my favorite ammo for my Ruger Mk lll, Sig Mosquito, and Beretta Bobcat. I haven't found anything more consistant.

Yes but that is only if you enjoy story telling more than shooting good ammo. My normal plinking ammo is now Blazer, other than than I and my guns seem to prefer either the CCI Subsonic or Standard Velocity. If we get serious about shooting, like dandelion blossoms in teh spring and the Queen Anne's Lace flowers in the fall then we go for Wolf MT or SK Std+. The fall flowers demand accuracy of about 1/16 diameter stems, to clip off cleanly below thew blossom at 25 or so yards, depending where they happen to be growing. My record last fall was 6 in a row without a miss. all clean snips.
