I don't see that too much now. My concern is that there is such a proliferation of "airsoft" or replica guns that people use to shoot each other knowing that it won't hurt. There is no sense of gun safety among these individuals at all. Paint guns and these other fake weapons may be all the rage with young (and not so young) people but it scares the he** out of me to see such gross safety violations occurring. Young people just don't seem to care at all except to parrot what they hear about guns are bad and should all be banned................except of course their toy's. Guns are tools for hunting or self defense. I belong to several Forums and on one they talk about nothing but adding cerracote or some other paint to their handgun to make it look good or painting their stainless steel magazine to better coordinate its color to the gun itself. They modify their weapons for looks and not function and complain that their magazines rattle and how they put velcro between the mag well and mag to eliminate all noise. Ooops, I'm on a rant and probably not even on the right topic area. Sorry.

I remember when the duracoat paint process came out over twenty years ago. Springfield Armory had a bunch of 1911's painted up in a wide variety of colors on display in their booth on competitors row at Camp Perry. Some looked like toys the way they were painted. It didn't take much to see that paint scheme could cause problems. Sure enough I went in one day and found a loaded 1911 on a couch in the booth. It was painted in a color scheme that almost perfectly blended in with the covering material on the sofa. I unloaded it and took it back to the attendant behind the counter. He was very happy because he had forgotten all about having the pistol out and loaded when he guarded the booth the night before. I can't help but think what could have happened if someone had found it and decided to try a dry fire.

Holy couch commando! I almost didn't see the person, if it hadn't been for those desert tan boots. I think someone has found the perfect camo for sneaking and peaking those armchair soldiers. Reminds me of a few of those old Far Side cartoons!

If he had a few flowers he would not even show at all. But that is a very good camo. If Bullseye had not posted first I might have overlooked him. Asking my self why someone posted a photo of a couch.

He obviously needs camo boots to totally blend in with the background.

They modify their weapons for looks and not function

We've been going beyond basic protection of metal and wood for thousands of years. Some of the engraving, exotic wood grips and stocks and new, high tech coatings look really good. If I had something like that, I'd be afraid I'd mess it up.

Be confident Rob, you know you would. I would be afraid to touch something like that
You have great day and shoot straight and may the Good Lord smile on you.
