Just an update to my original post. The Volquartsen extractor came and I installed it today. I matched it up to the OEM extractor and it matched the profile perfectly. Something the other brand extractor that I had installed did not do. That one, I had to do some stoning on it before it would match/...

Bullseye, thanks for the reply and furthering my education on these guns. From day one, my Mark3 has been a stovepiping/FTE SOB. Three of us bought new Ruger Mark3's to shoot in an indoor .22 league. While the other 2 Rugers will digest anything without a problem, only mine has had the stovepiping/F...

Bullseye, I went to the Rimfire S&C website you indicated and I see that there, they do indeed show both VQ part numbers. Right after I posted, I sent my order in to Midwest and I had some other items to order from them anyway. But, I did put Rimfire S&C into my favorites for future consideration. T...

Ruger MK3 extractor spring question for Bullseye
Bullseye, I've had my Ruger MK3 for a couple of months now. I've read most of the archive Ruger Mark 3 threads here and have done some modifications based on what I have learned here. In one post, you mentioned that when replacing the OEM Mark 3 extractor with the VQ extractor, to not use the packag...

Timely post for me. I went to order the Volquartsen extractor from Midway tonight for my Ruger Mark 3 and I also was confused. Midway only carries the Volquartsen p/n VC10EE exact edge extractor and states it fits both the Ruger 10/22 and Ruger Mark 2. But if you go to the Volquartsen website, they ...

Savage Model 187H .22 rifle online owners manual?
Recently I picked up an older Savage Model 187H .22 rifle. It says it will shoot everything form .22 shorts to LR. I figure it's older because I can't find a serial number on it. After shooting it and getting some jams I figured it could use a good cleaning which was verified when I pulled the stock...

Volquartsen MarkIII trigger stop question
I installed the Volquartsen accurizing kit into my Ruger MarkIII 512 this afternoon. I took it down to the indoor range tonight and shot a league match with it. This trigger is great! Much less effort (2.25 lbs vs the stock 4.5 lbs) and my scores jumped about 20 points. The Volquartsen kit doesn't i...

toyfj40- That was an informative article, thanks. I'm new to Ruger .22 pistols having bought a new MarkIII 512 and the before mentioned Standard model both within the last month. The article brought me up to speed. Bullseye- Yes, you are correct, upon pulling the grip, I found it to be unstamped. Th...

Ruger old Standard model .22 magazine question
Hi all, I just joined the forum, this is one great place for rimfire questions, lots of knowledge here. Recently, I purchased a used Ruger .22 pistol. I was told by the seller that it was an older Standard model. I looked the serial number up on Ruger's website and they say it was most likely produc...
