Did the Single-Six come with a spare cyclinder for 22 mag conversation? I bought my Single-Six back in '93 (pre-owned) and still have to this day. As good as it is when used as a .22LR plinker, my particular gun is especially accurate when firing .22mag ammo.

Whenever using a 1911 for home defense, I always use JHPs. I am very concerned about over-penetration. My guns have no issues feeding JHPs. So long as reliability is not compromised, I see no reason to use FMJ over JHP.

I just bought a stainless 1991 NRM last week. It came with a NM barrel and the throating is identical to the one on the right. No problems feeding the old, truncated cone type 230gr HydraShoks though. Anyway, I felt the same pain here. I had a gunsmith (and I used the term loosely) ruined the barrel...
