Ruger Mark I Disassembly
I am helping a friend to disassemble, clean and lube his newly acquired MarK I, and I cannot figure out how to remove the trigger pivot pin. It does not have a spring bearing on the pin as do the Mark II and III, and the pin seems to be solidly locked in place, but I can't see what is holding it. I'...

I'll be 55 YOA next week, so can barely remember seeing the program as a child, but due to my enjoying seeing Richard Boone in other programs, I looked for DVD's of the HGWT series on the net. I was able to get the first three seasons on DVD and love watching them. Today's programming should be so t...

Thanks!
When you say the disconnector's too large, do you mean the pivot pin that the trigger mounts on? Instead of buying a new disconnector you could just open up the trigger's disconnector pivot pin hole to a larger size. R, Bullseye Yes. But, that is way beyond my ability given the tools I have on hand...

I can think of a few folks over the years who needed a disconnector and couldn't get one. The last time anyone I knew found a commercial disconnector, was when Radar bought two to build up his from scratch Ruger Pistol. He bought the last two disconnectors that Numerich had in stock several years a...

This reminds me a bit of a strip tease. The interesting and vital points are coming out slowly and in no particular order. The sear, trigger issue in no way affects point of impact in relation to point of aim, so it seems that someone may have replaced either the rear sight or rear leaf. The best wa...

VQ Trigger Woes
Did you install the VQ sear? If you didn't, the VQ trigger may not work at all. I don't know why, but that's what I found out with my Mark II. Without the VQ sear, I had to reinstall the OEM trigger to get it to function with the OEM sear. It has something to do with the different geometry of the se...

Removed the mag safety on my Mk III and installed a Mk II hammer bushing when I added that VQ sear and trigger. Thought maybe a Mk II hammer with my neww Clark oversize bushing and pin might reduce the "Slop" in the trigger even more... I'm wondering whether you have tried the fit between the Mark ...

How many rounds did you fire before it started acting up? Almost sounds like you put too much oil on it when you cleaned and lubed it. I'm not sure a .22, especially a KMKIII678 can be limp wristed enough to cause the problem. Think I'll give that a whirl tomorrow. Will go to the range with my limp...

If you want the best trigger feel the oversized pin and bushing set is the way to go. Removing any slop in the dynamic trigger components will eliminate most of the perceived creep and produce a fine trigger pull. R, Bullseye Bullseye, It was your sage advice offered to all who log on here, as well...

Mark II Trigger Work
Last night I stayed up late to complete the conversion on the second of my Mark III's, but I did one thing differently, which made a huge difference. On the first I removed the LCI and Mag Disconnect. I installed a Mark II Hammer bushing, VQ Sear and VQ Hammer. It shoots nice and inspired me to conv...

Re: Progressive Reloaders
Ok , Im sure this has been hashed out a bunch before but I want to start reloading 45 acp for pistol , mostly target . Most of what Ive read says dillon is the way to go . If I did that I would stay with a sguare deal just because I cant spend more right now . Any thoughts on the Hornady Lock & Loa...
