not a thumb break model, but I ordered a Blade Tech SRB holster and mag carrier for my MKIII 22/45 w/5.5" bull barrel - intended use is for my 8yo daughter at the range http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif http://mysite.verizon.net/tlinderman/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpicture...

no worries - spending a few hours with raw materials and a mill/lathe would be right up my alley! re: the front sight. My salesmen recommended I remove the front sight and clean off all the oil, then reinstall with a little blue loctite prior to my first range visit; otherwise I might've had the sam...

sorry, I'm no help with the extractor problem - but I'm curious about your sights. Wilson, as in Wilson Combat? Any pics you could post?

Thanks!

*eta - great work on the mods! I like to see what other tinkerers are coming up with :)

woodspirits, I double-checked the factory rear sight blade that I replaced on my MKIII 22/45 and it already has the U-notch milled in. All that's required is for you to paint it the color of your choice. If you want something the same blade for your Hunter, you can order the 22/45 sight blade from R...

I had my laptop on my workbench during my first disassembly too :)

I've since saved off each page of instructions, printed them and stuck 'em in a binder (keeps the grease & grime off my keyboard)!

shazam this little Ruger is really fun. Just got back from the NRA range and everything worked out very well. The gritty feeling is gone - most likely the ridges in the trigger plunger hole that are now history. While at the range, I decided to try a few different brands of ammo. Now bear with me, ...

Had a bit of time today to tear everything down again... I removed the bump from the back of the trigger with a file. I also rolled up 1000grit paper and knocked down the ridges in the trigger plunger hole. Interesting to note that the Wolff RP trigger plunger spring is longer than the factory piece...

thanks for the reply Bullseye. After a bit of searching last night I did see a thread where you mentioned knocking down any ridges in the trigger plunger hole. It's on my list of things to tweak this weekend.

mini-update: my Wolff RP trigger plunger spring arrived today, and after installation I recorded the following trigger pull weights (average of 10 pulls): with empty magazine = 3lb 10oz w/o magazine = 3lb 5oz Assuming the empty magazine represents the condition of the pistol while the last round is ...
