Hey Bullseye, I seem to have eliminated the bullet-shaving- unfortunately I wasn't very scientific about it so I'm not sure which of the things I did solved it. My uncle (who also shoots a 41) was over, and I mentioned to him the problem I'd been having. His face lit up, he asked me a couple of ques...

Well Bullseye, you were exactly right, as usual :) My supposed fix quit working after the next time I disassembled and reassembled it. I misunderstood your description of the timing problem, then after a few minutes of cycling rounds through it, I now understand what you mean about the timing error....

Alright! Progress! I tried out the extractor adjustment from the site, and it worked exactly as advertised. Thanks Bullseye!! My concern about the positioning of the extractor in its channel is relieved. While I had the extractor out, I checked it for peening where it would have collided with the ba...

I was able to do a little testing this morning, and I found a few things that seem suspicious, but without another pistol for comparison, I'm not sure which might be red herrings. On my pistol, when the bolt is closing and the extractor is entering the channel, the bottom of the extractor contacts t...

I have a MkII 22/45 with an ultradot and the Volquartsen kit, and bought a new 5"bbl 41 about a year ago. The ruger is a much lighter pistol. Switching to the 41 came with a significant increase in weight, which took a while to get used to, if you're shooting conventional pistol that might be an iss...

41 crescent shaped lead cuttings
Hi Bullseye and Crew, My poor neglected 41 has been closed up in the box for several months after baby #2 arrived, but I've found a new range close by where I can practice at night. I had been having some problems with feeding match ammunition, but it seems that a 6.5# wolff spring was the cure. The...

Hey Kaz, If you're dryfiring your 41, I found this: http://www.flat5.net/trashcansnapcap.html It's a very easy solution, the only problem I know of is that the cleaners at my office probably wonder why there are so many notches cut into the rim of my garbage can :) Really the only problem is that it...

Hi Goose, Thanks for the pic of your pistol. What kind of price tag for the grips? Blazer :D I got mine for 75 bucks, Champs Choice has got them in stock still http://www.champchoice.com/detail.php?item=N41 Mr. Bullseye is the man for coventional pistol advice! the only advice I've got now is get a...

Hi Blazer, I put a set of Herrett's Nationals grips on my 41. I have long hands and I like the way these grips feel thicker so that my index finger doesnt sit at an extreme angle if I put the first joint on the trigger. The cost a lot less than the fancier anatomical grips. Here's what they look lik...

Bullseye I've got a 41 question for you- I'll upload a picture tonight if necessary. It appears that the end of the wire in my recoil spring- that is, where the wire was cut off, has been digging into the guide rod and has cut a bunch of long scratches along the length of the guide rod. The cuts wer...

mine won't shoot anything high velocity or low velocity :) so any of the "pistol" ammunitions that are below standard velocity don't feed well. In fact that Aguila pistol match with the eagle on the box, I shot about 10 rounds of it and had to manually extract every one. Eley Standard Pistol, Aguila...
