Greener's got it right. The terms Target and Hunter are labels applied within the Buckmark line. Many of them offering both 5.5 and 7" barrels within the same group. My gripe is that with all those variations one can't find the one you want to purchase. I did try calling Browning Customer Service, a...

My dealer feels the Summer has had its run and now the Fall is heavy into hunting, etc. And maybe were all due for a shipment. Annoying thing is you can't get anything out of Browning. There's a lot of Buckmarks, but only four of them have the continuous ramp for easy mounting of a red dot...actuall...

Has Browning stopped making Buckmarks?
After weeks of research I've finally decided the gun for me is a Browning Buckmark 5.5...either the Target or Hunter 5.5, or a Contour 5.5. Both having a contiuous ramp for mouinting red dots or a scope. Now, just try and find one. My gunshop has been in touch with distributors all over the country....

Enjoying your humor. What shakes me is that in a previous post I asked about dry-firing a Buckmark -- which seems to be a no-no. I thought leaving a hammer cocked all the time was unnecessary wear on the hammer spring. I think I'm confusing myself. Sold my 10" Schmidt a couple of years ago because o...

Uncocking a Buckmark?
I'm even uncomfortable asking this...but how does one uncock a Browning Buckmark? I brought up the manual and squinted through every page. They carefully tell you how to cock the gun, and it seems obvious that every time you retract the slide and let it go forward you've cocked the hammer. Is there ...

Dry fire Buckmarks?
Still doing my research on what pistol to buy. How about dry firing the Browning Buckmark 5.5 target pistol. Any problem? Also recall reading in this forum, I think, that the Buckmark has plastic surounding or near the firing pin, and some of the cleaners attack plastic? Being a model railroader, I ...

Browning 22 Rimfires?
While I'm still awaiting my CT permit, I'm of course doing a lot research on my first pistol. No question on many of these forums the Ruger Mk IIs and IIIs are hands down favorites. I am looking at the several Browning rimfires available...The Medalist and Challengers. The Buckmarks. I was wondering...

Bullseye's answer to the new member with his new Mark III was sure a help to this new member...so much so that I've printed it out. Especially helpful is the "Righthanded Correction" chart. Stay healthy Bullseye. You really make this site one I check every day. I'm awaiting my permit here in Connect...

When I asked my daughter about home defence, her first reponse was a shotgun. She was Pan-Am women's champion in sporting clays several years ago. He husband was on the America sporting clays Olympic team in the last winter Olympics. As you can see, they would lean toward shotguns. You might have he...

Bulls-Eye...The club I'm joining is very active in target shooting. I did well over the years in rifle, but that's not very popular anymore. The club has a lot of skilled shooters and I hope tp learn a lot from them. No question about Ruger's popularity in that mode of shooting. If I don't pass on b...

Is thre Mark III the last word?
Am a recent joiner to this form having shot rifle most of my life. Am now joining a local club for some serious pistol work. I know this site is very strong on the Ruger. This will be my first pistol after many years. But is there any other pistol besides the Mk III I should look at as an option? I ...
