Thanks to all for the input
As it happens sometimes fate entered into my project. I came across a 1" red dot sight with mounts, 3 spare batteries, flip up lens covers, filters, the whole 9 yards in the original box for $80.00. Because the way the barrel is made the 2 mounts can only hold the front of it. So it does extend over...

A 6" 629 that has been Magna-Ported... That sounds just right to me! Now you've got me wanting to be a copy-cat. Well what really made my mind up was my hand to have this done. After all the work Smith & Wesson did to it it's like a whole new gun, an awesome new gun. But its been close to 2 years s...

Re: S & W Model 629
Well my 6” SS .44 Magnum went on a vacation to Smith & Wesson for close to a year. I was having a problem with the cylinders slightly dragging during rotation. To their credit the repair would be covered under warranty. But of course while they had it apart anyway…. I had them really tighten up the...

Thanks
Thanks much for the advice, This is the first electronic sight I have ever seen so, I don't have any experience with them. The first thing I did was play with the intensity knob. The brightness on the highest setting would take up most of the target at 50 yards, at lower settings the dot takes up le...

More on my 41
Hello all, well as fate would have it I fell into a deal I could not pass up on an UltraDot sight with rings, covers, extra batteries, the whole nine yards. It’s the 1” Black model and fits on the rail that came with the EWK Arms Model 41 Bully Steel Challenge Barrel, Compensated "Generation 2". So ...

Range Report Model 41
Hello all, I spent a couple of hours at a local indoor range called "Classic Pistol" here in Philadelphia Pa. Nice range, good lighting, could use a little better ventilation as it got quite warm with 10 of us firing away. It did not get real smoky just real warm. I had with me my Model 41, Model 62...

I agree the cover wouldn't need to be overly thick, but it would need to be thick enough to support a dovetail slot for the rear sight and resist flexing under recoil stresses. You could add a full-length piece of metal to those mounting screws like a Bo-Mar rib or Marvel sight rail. A Marvel .22 c...

Looks to me as if it is set up for use with a scope or a holographic sight. I'd check with the mfg to see if there's a picatinny rail for it. The barrel came with the optional picatinny rail as shown in the first picture. The people I have spoken to about it use red dot sights on it like the ultra ...

Not sure you really want to add an iron sight to that barrel. Anything you add to support the rear sight base will also cause a need for an abnormally tall front sight post to match. R, Bullseye This is what the 41 looks like with the challenge barrel installed. http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/a...

A great moment of nostalgia, looking at the pics of that beautiful model 41. I had one in the early 80's with the short bull barrel that was outfitted with Conetrol scope mounts and a 2x scope. (Leupold, I believe. ) I used it as a small game gun, and wound up trading to a friend for something that...

New Guy Hello to All
Hello all new guy.. Ummm In looking around I kind of feel like a heathen in the temple of Ruger. I am the new owner of a Smith & Wesson Model: 41. It was made in 1967 and came with the 7 3/8 barrel with the muzzle brake. I have over the past several months found the screw in under barrel weights, th...
