Joe--

I am the only long distance, bench-rest pistol shooter in the sport. I am very lonely.

bearandoldman and Bullseye-- Yes, I would have to agree that is one helluva gun. Tromix used to manufacture a single shot .50BMG pistol. It was a neat looking machine. Reputedly, it did not kick much more than a fifty caliber Desert Eagle due to the short barrel length. But, talk about flash! A 6" D...

That's a big 10-4.

allendavis-- I looked at all the pictures. It is obvious you have a tight group of friends/shooters and an EXTREMELY well maintained range. I carry the Volquartsen in a large case. But, it's heapie-cheapie (the case, not the VQ!). In a couple of weeks I should have another upper for it, two inches l...

allendavis-- Yes! Send me the link to your range! I have been very satisfied with the Browning Buck Mark Hunter. But, I have not shot it THAT much. My main machine--until about a year ago--was a 7.25" Beretta NEOS Inox DLX. The best I ever did with the NEOS was 0.354", edge to edge. (This was before...

Allen-- First things first: Do Ahmet Rhodan, Moon Unit, and Dweazel ring a bell? Thank you for all the time you spent on that e-mail response. Trying to go in order without quoting . . . The Connecticut guns are reputed to be outstanding. I have decided to collect High Standard "letter" guns. Howeve...

Hydra-shokz-- On longer barreled .22lr pistols shooting sub-sonic (and maybe even supersonic) rounds the compensator just looks good. That's it. Oh. If you want to trap a LOT of lead, it will do that for you, too. Here is a picture of my VQ . . . http://www.billnkc.com/images/Volquartsen/Volquartsen...

allendavis-- Do you know if the High Standard Sport King is built by the Houston facility? If so, there are many, many unhappy campers that have bought guns from that facility. (I read Jim Spacek's forum and John Stimson's forum; I hope I have their names right!) I have two, nearly identical HD-Mili...

Ruffchaser--

The grips on my Volquartsen are "Volthane" grips. I saw a set on a Ruger at Cabela's today. Since the Volquartsen uses the Ruger frame, I suppose all you have to do is buy the grip.

I like them A LOT. Even more than the Hogue one-piece wrap-around on my Desert Eagle.

wlambert-- I enjoy the Volquartsen more all the time. Currently, I am having a high magnification Burris rifle scope customized for use on the Volquartsen. I have had it mounted on it once and it looks very good! Whether it looks as good or better than the Burris Handgun scope I have on it now will ...

Ruffchaser--

Did it look like my Browning Buck Mark Hunter (7.5" barrel)?

Image

It is a great shooter with a scope or a red dot! And, if I could see, it would be great with that HiViz site!

Bullseye and All--

Do you know if primers use some kind of perchorate as the shock sensitive component? This is not a big issue with me, I have just always wondered.

Re: ". . . flawless ignition."

Is that why Aguila uses Eley primers in some of its ammunition? It is not clear to me what part the primer may play in accuracy. Is it just that Eley primers are more reliable and contribute to "flawless ignition?"

Thanks.
