Herritt Stocks
The stocks for the MK III came. For an off the shelf item (they shipped them the same day), I am impressed. They are nicely made and finished from nice walnut, fit is good (both to the gun and to my hand) and they do work with the MK III Mag release and my oversized slide release. Haven't shot with ...

Herritt
Thanks Bullseye. Meanwhile, I heard from Herritt overnight and they say, "We do stocks for both the MK II and the MK III. Yes, our stock for the MKIII has the clearance for the relocated magazine release. Thanks for the inquiry, hope to hear from you again soon." So, now I guess I only need to decid...

TNX Bullseye. I will keep that in mind. Meanwhile, Herritt hasn't answered my e-mail but the site says 1) the Nationals are for only MK II but the site also says that 2) for not a whole lot of money, they will make most anything. So, come to it, I may upgrade some higher than I intended. I'll contin...

Oops!
Didn't look long enough. Herritt is at http://www.herrett-stocks.com/ and has an email contact site. I have asked them the MK II vs. MK III question.
More anon I am sure.

Herrett National Match Stocks
I am looking for more serious target stocks for my MK III Competition. Found some here "Herrett National Match Stocks" that claim they match MK II and III. I am pretty sure that this is not likely because of the mag release change but cannot find a link to the actual manufacturer. Don't trust peddle...

Grip finish
I got my Mk III Competition with the cocobolo wood grips. I like them. I have a much more "gun nut" than I friend who insists on immediately stripping the finish off of new wood grips and refinishing them with wax only. This leaves me with three questions: 1. Does anyone know what Ruger uses for fac...

Thanks Bullseye, I already have the wheel. Unfortunately, knowing and doing are not the same. Mostly I don't pull but too many times I do. It is (mostly) the "too much Trigger finger," especially if I don't pull through and spend too much time on the target getting the trigger to actually break. It ...

Ruger MK III Magazines
Home, home from the range. With some more working on them (follower button all the way down and up repeatedly) both mags work OK. Had one failure, the second round out of hte first of the two new mags did not feed until I smacked the gun butt and cycled the bolt. After, for about fifty rounds each t...

Ruger MK III Magazines
Thanks Bullseye. Several things: First, I don't know what I was thinking but I actually got these magazines form Midway, not Brownell's. Second, they ARE Ruger New  for real, at least the packaging says so. The two original to the gun work so well that I am amazed both of these do not. And, I ...

Ruger Mk III Magazines
I just bought two magazines via Brownell's. Packaging said really Ruger. Neither if them will feed at all if I put more than 5-6 rounds in. Up to five seem to always feed, over five the follower will hang up and not even return the last round to the top of the mag. Without the rounds, the follower S...
