Hey, BP, I know how it is! I'm still into perfecting my MKIII Hunter. When I find an end to that, I'll direct to the pillar-bedding of the CZ. 8)

Well, BP - I hope you get to do some shooting soon! I've had a few trips into the range and the field since I installed the Brooks kit in my 4542 Varmint, and it's really sweet. My barrel floats as it came from the factory and I'm getting consistently great groups, but I'm thinking pillar-bedding is...

Thanks, Bullseye - I answered you there as well.

For anyone else reading this - make sure you're awake when you order parts!

Help! - MKIII oversize hammer bushing problem...

Bullseye, anybody... - apparently, I mistakenly ordered the Clark oversize bushing and sear pin, instead of the oversize bushing and hammer pin for my MKIII. So what I got was the oversize sear pin and bushing for 22/45. I didn't realize this until after I did some work to the bushing to get it to f...

Well, I'll be looking for your report when you get around to shooting it, BP. I just got my first CZ (452 Varmint) and am about to start improving things - I hope.

BTW - when it comes to "how to", I'm one of the askers, not one of the "you guys"! :) Bullseye's been a great help to me with my MKIII.

Re: The doorbell just rang

...I don't consider having to use jacked bullets a negative. Niether do I. In fact - my favorite load uses the plated Raniers with Titegroup. No exposed lead (except where they strike the hollowpoint) means no leading to clean up. Even if I don't have to concern myself with gas-op issues, I still l...

...So - it seems like it might be worthwhile to restrict loads to jacketed (preferably TMJ or plated?) rounds and find which of these use the cleanest powders, eh? I have been getting real good accuracy in 9mm with the plated Ranier hollowpoints. They have no exposed lead, even on the base. Maybe a ...

I just recently read a review on this gun in the May/June American Handgunner. They mentioned that this pistol needs to be cleaned about every 50 (yes fifty) rounds to be reliable. They had repeated failures to fire when they did not keep it clean. Other than that, and some necessary adjustment to t...

Oh - but wait! :? ...The Clarke oversize bushing - it only works with the MKII hammer, right? So if I want the oversize pin and bushing, I have to go with the MKII hammer?

If that's correct, then my mags will soon be dropping free.

Thanks for the reply, guys. I'm afraid I wasn't clear in my comment about my trigger feel - what I meant was that it felt the same as what Bud describe of his after the same mod. It is much better than it came - but after living with it for some time now, I can detect that little creep and it feels ...

Bullseye, or Bud - I have that same feel to my trigger after installing the VQ sear (amazing how we get pickier with time!). Will removing the mag safety effect the trigger pull? I'm going to do the pin/bushing swap for sure. Is it worth it to swap the hammer on my MKIII with a MKII hammer, if my ma...

Hi guys. Thought it was about time I popped over here to Bullseye's forum! I use a set of Walkers Power Muffs. They don't shut off at the gunfire - they use a sound compression circuit. So I have no trouble hearing someone talking to me with gunfire nearby. I don't use them at the indoor range. Simp...
