Len,

Every time my wife comments(raises H---) about my gun hobby expenses I just tell her to be glad I never took up golf with all that expense.
If we turned all the golf courses into firing ranges the world be a better place.

Len, Yeah,as best I remember it is a 4-40x1/4 screw, I'd have to go break it down and look to be sure.Keeps the long leg of sear spring right where it is supposed to be. I wish I had a place to do the range time you do but I'm locked in.My home was in the boonies a few years ago and I could set up a...

Len, I'm about tinkered out for right now. I'm gonna have to get a new toy as I have gone about as far as I can with the latest MK11678GC. My latest mod on that one, replacing the sear spring pin with a small screw, works like a jewel. No more trapping the hammer strut behind the pin, just pull the m...

Where is everybody?

It looks like all the MK pistol problems have been solved.
Very few posts here or on the MK111.org site in the last week so all must be right with the shooting world.
I guess I'll have to get back into my tinkering and break something just to have an excuse to stir up some interest.

Bud33, VQ seems to be in a flux right now with the triggers but I'm sure Vic will catch up. File a bit off the rear of the overtravel screw to get the screw head flush or just below the trigger face with no overtravel and you'll be happy with the trigger. I had one that I had to file down and one th...

Bud33, You can carefully file down the nose of the hammer above the notch to where it clears the sear at letoff. Just be sure not to get into the edge of the notch itself. Then polish that area and it will help some. That will let you set the overtravel for the least travel but it's really not neede...

Bullseye,

You are right. I forgot about the mk111 parts cause I'm working on a mk11. At least it looks workable on the mk11.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Bullseye/Hammer strut

Bullseye, Have you looked at my post about replacing the sear spring pin? I've been waiting to hear your pro/con idea on this. I talked to a couple of guys at Ruger while I was ordering parts and both said it sounded like a mod that Ruger should make. Or at least lower the pin in the frame and put a...

Rook, I got into this a little late but I have been loading the .45 for many years and may have a solution for your problem. The .45 magnum case has a thicker web so I trimmed some of them down to acp length. I can get 1200 fps over a chronograph with a Speer 185 gr.Gold Dot bullet with a 20lb. reco...

Hung hammer strut problem solved

Bullseye, Being you have been gone for a few days I thought I'd give you something to get you back into 'smithing. As many times as I've had one of these things apart I still get caught up in the old "hung hammer strut" when putting it back together. I thought I had the problem solved by filing a fl...

mg66, Nothing major. You may have to sand the pin down a bit and the bushing may be a little tight in the hammer but neither will be off by much. It depends on your pistol. Some have larger/smaller pin holes but, again, not enough to matter much. I've put 4 or 5 of the kits in and only had one of th...

Bullseye,

Yeah, I should have put that trigger in the trading post. I can't imagine the demand has outstripped VQ's production but who knows. As you said. Rimfire probably has them.
Wonder what ever happened to the silver colored trigger project at VQ?

tglahn17, I should put this in the for sale section but being new here you might miss it. I have one of the new VC3TT black triggers(new, still in the bag) I'm not going to use. It is one of the later ones with a hard powder coat finish. If you can't find one anywhere else e-mail me and we'll try to...

Bullseye,

Nah, I just thought it might help if I hide my "dope" for a few days and go cold turkey. That might help me get a handle on my addiction.
I can already hear it calling from the shop though so I'll have to have a "fix" soon.
