Bullseye, I was shooting the 50 foot target at 50 feet. It felt like a long way out there because I always shoot at 21 feet. I felt I shot better with the smaller targets at 21 feet, but my score did improve at 50 feet with the larger target. My 21 foot targets have six targets on an 8.5x11 sheet of...

Went to the indoor range and shot b2 and b3 50 foot targets with stock Ruger KMKIII512S, Iron Sights. Federal Bulk Ammo. I didn't have any 21ft targets with me. SF 52 TF 73 RF 57 total 182 no x Improved from last week. Not sure if improvement is because the 50 foot target or more experience (done th...

Thank you everyone for your comments and support. The fix I did was to work the bolt in and out of the barrel with the bolt completely stripped down. When slightly turning the bolt, as Headknocker said, it would bind. I just forced the bolt through the binding/roughness several times until it freed ...

Ok guys, a beginner here. I've been shooting my Ruger KMKIII512SS since March 7 and shot my first pistol shortly before that. I have been shooting Silhouette targets at 21 feet two-handed until today. This was the first time I ever shot one handed. Here are my results . . . SF 34 0x RF 56 0x TF 68 1...

Thanks Bullseye for the link and help. I was looking for those pictures as I had read through them a while ago. I took the gun to the range and fired 50 rounds and had one stovepipe out of 50 rounds. Not too bad, I usually get one every 100 rounds or so. Therefore, I think it is within tolerance. Bo...

Ok, so I removed the LCI. It was not the problem. I think the problem the extractor? The solid metal piece the positions the bolt at the bottom on the barrel. I took the firing pin out, by accident as I removed the pin thinking it could be binding and the firing pin assembly also came out. Again I h...

No, I looked at the LCI removal instructions on the sight, but don't like removing spring loaded parts. I went to a gun show yesterday and felt the action on several Mark III's and mine definately has a serious problem. The ones at the show were smooth like my standard. Will look at the LCI removal ...

Mark III Bolt Action Roughness
I have a Mark III Target Stainless and have fired about 3,000 rounds through it with only an occasional FTE or FTF 1% or less. I detail strip and clean the gun after each trip to the range (200 to 300 rounds). Today, the gun started to FTE/FTF/stovepipe nearly every round after 200 rounds. I brought...

I have an Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit for my Glock 19 and totally recommend it. My 19 gets a great deal more use with the conversion. It installs in seconds and shows no wear after 1200 rounds. The fit and quality are very good. Of course its not as accurate as my Mark III, but it is good for ...

Welcome Gunshine and remember to pay attention to the details? Thanks, I think that was the problem. I was so stressed out at how hard this was supposed to be that I messed it up. The second fieldstrip and reassembly took minutes. It really isn't hard once you've done it a couple of times. P....

Magazine in Backwards - Thank You Bullseye!
I am a new owner of a Mark III SS 512 Target model that has a story about my first field strip of the gun . . . It only took me 24 hours. I was following Bullseye's nicely done pictoral fieldstrip instructions and field stripped the gun very easily. After cleaning the gun and starting to put ...
