I have the non-removable grips so that wasn't an issue for me. Good to know, though.

Put 300 rounds through the pistol on Saturday. Very happy with the results.

Installed the Clark bushing and VQ sear, trigger and plunger w/factory spring. Installation was straightforward and the pistol now has a noticeably lighter, crisper trigger pull. Forgot to put in the Clark sear pin but will do that next time I detail strip the gun. Looking forward to taking it to th...

You do not want to do any thing to the bushing. You want it to fit tight to the hammer. In most cases it's a press/friction fit. Any play in the hammer/bushing adds creep to the trigger. The pin for the 22/45 fits the sear. The Clark bushing and pin came today. Do you mean above that I should use t...

Clark CLK-517 bushing install in MkIII 22/45

I've ordered a VQ trigger and sear and a Clark bushing (and sear pin). I've seen a number of posts here about stoning the bushing for proper fit. I'm unclear on exactly where on the bushing the stoning work needs to be done, and why. Can anyone enlighten this 22/45 newbie? Thanks!

Good point, BFD. I have a compressor in my garage that would work great for blowing out the micro-grit that's out of reach inside the frame. When I detail my 1911s, I use compressed air to blow out any excess Ballistol that's sitting inside the frame.

So, lift it up out of its slot near the trigger. Got it. I'll try that next time. However, given the relatively good acess to that area when all the other parts are out, I may not ever have to mess with it. Just get in there with a toothbrush for a good scrub.

Bullseye, Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have a quick question: How should the mag release and spring be removed when detail stripping MkIII 22/45. I used your (excellent!) instructions on this site to detail strip the gun the other day, but did not see how to remove it. I guess I could fig...

The FP stop pin on my new 22/45 is solid, not a roll pin. I looked at Ruger's website for the part but do not see it. 'd like to have a few extras on hand along with a firing pin. Any of you guys know where I can find a solid FP stop pin?

Good idea, Bullseye. Doesn't make sense to replace the part until it starts to malfunction. From what I've read in here so far, it looks like a detail cleaning is a good idea at around the 1,500 round interval. I typically use Ballistol on my guns, but I've also heard that lighter fluid on the trigg...

Thanks for the input guys (and the welcome!). This site has been extremely helpful to me. Yes, it's a brand new MkIII 22/45. The pull seems slightly heavier at the last round, but since neither of you know of something obvious that may be causing it, I'm wondering if maybe it's my imagination. BTW, ...

Trigger pull on new 22/45

Hi all, New to this forum and to .22 rimfires, so please excuse the naive questions. The pistol shoots great, but I notice a heavier trigger weight on the last round. It's not terrible, but it's noticeable. Is there a way to remedy this issue? Also, any other thoughts from the experts here on sugges...
