Re: 45acp 200gr lswc loads

I use American Select at 4.3 for 185 gr bullets for a 775 fps (if I remember right). The same or a little less would be fine for 200. This is an extremely clean burning powder recommended to me by a reloading store years ago. I also use it for .38. I changed from Bullseye which is like burning coal ...

Re: Well, it was interesting

After installing my 1st dot, my scores took a dump. Took several weeks to really feel comfortable with a dot. After that learing curve, when you look at a new pistol you will immediately add the price of a dot to instal.

After putting a red dot on my Bullseye pistol, I ended up putting on most of my other pistols. In order to shoot iron I either use a diopter on safety glasses or use .75 reading glasses (this puts the front sight in focus and a slightly fuzzy target.

Re: Favorite .22cal handgun

In .22 I have several Mark II with Volquartsen works and Clark bushing plus a S&W 41 (which is far superior constructed than Rugers). All are accurate with Dots. None are for sale ever. In 1911 my favorite is Kimber only because I feel they offer the most competitive gun for the money. Without any p...

Re: Need contact to the NRA

Also contact The Second Amendment Foundation http://www.saf.org/ I find them much more helpful than the NRA. They are the ones that won the legal battle over guns in Katrina.

Re: 45 cal. 1911 purchase

I replaced a Colt Gold Cup with a Kimber II, best move I made. Kimber is extremely accurate and dependable - but need trigger work. Since then bought a Kimber Target Match which does not have the II safety. Another great bullseye gun, but the trigger was terrible. Sent it back to Kimber with the 5.5...

Re: Sorting 22LR Ammo

I have a Smith 41 and 3 Mark II. Had bad luck with Reminginton and Winchester .22 in bulk packs. Other than that almost no difference between other bullets and guns. Least jamming problems has been with CMP and Eley Sport. My .22 Rifle is extremely picky about various ammo.

Eyes

My eye doctor took my measurements and recommended a .75 reading glass for iron sights. This put the gun sights in focus and a little fuzzy target. Of course THE answer is a red dot.
