New to me Model 41

Havent been on this forum for a long time, glad to see it going strong. Yesterday I bought a used model 41 and am so glad I finally got one. Shot it at the indoor range tonite and the trigger is sweet and it fits in the hand well . Hope to shoot it outside at the 50 yard range tommorrow.

Thats interesting about the comparison betwwen the mkII and mkIII. Is the mkII's grip thicker than the mkIII's? I have a mkIII and it can really shoot . Thats the thing about rugers, you can get a bullseye accurate gun for $250 - $300 .

Thanks alot for the info Bullseye, I am actually happy with the trigger since I changed out the plastic one, Ill tryto bend the sear spring , if I can get it down to 4 1/4 - 4 1/2 # I think it will be good. I dont have any issues with the hammer on my gun, I probably misread something about the lega...

Path to a Hardball Gun

I have a stock series 80 colt with bomar sights that I eventually want to turn into a hardball gun. I changed the mainspring housing fromflat to arched and at that time got a 20# mainspring for it .This took the trigger from over 6# to about 5 1/4 # . Was this a legal thing to do ? I would of course...

Hey thanks alot guys ,thats what I needed to know . I was quite pleased at what my 22/45 would do at 50 yards,no wonder ya see alot of them in the bullseye leagues. Im not saying I wouldnt want a model 41 or a marvel in the future but for the cost and a vq sear it will take me along ways for awhile ...

Which Loctite

Last nite I put the scope base on my 22/45 and shot it with a red dot on it, but after awhile the screws loosened. Which loctite should I use to keep the screws from loosening ? Imay want to remove it at some point although one good thing about the setup is all you have to do is take the dot off,the...

I have it at clark custom guns right now , cant wait to get it back . All total Ill have 1400 in it. People at my club love the rock rivers ...

Progressive Reloaders

If I did that I would stay with a sguare deal just because I cant spend more right now . Any thoughts on the Hornady Lock & Load...

Thanks for the info. Bullseye. It looks like that would be correct on the sight . can a match bushing be fitted on that colt barrel ? I read somewhere that those barrels used with those collet bushings were flared instead of tapered ? Or would I need a new match barrel also .That is probably my best...

I only have two handguns so far , a Ruger 22/45 and a colt series 70 45 . I would say both Bullseye and Bearandoldman had some influence there and know whats goin on when it comes to guns. One thing about 1911s is that they can be made to be very accurate , not that others cant , but with so much ex...
