Embarrassed? Well....maybe if you are a Master Class shooter. That 822 is an Expert score and very nice with a new gun.
No malfunctions?
Those SF scores will come to you with the 41. It has a better trigger than the Ruger, don't you think, and that will help in the precision stage.

weight
Did it work.....yes. I was experimenting, as I said, and had a .22 short conversion kit in the gun. Recoil is subjective as is barrel flip - very dependent on the shooter. I'd say "yes it was effective". The movement with .22 shorts was so small that the dot (JPoint) did not leave the bull of the ta...

Ruger barrel weight
I was experimenting with barrel weights on my Ruger Mk.II Gov't last year. What I came up with was this: http://i492.photobucket.com/albums/rr287/PeteDoyle/IMG_0745.jpg It's simply a pipe fitting slightly larger than the barrel. It is not attached; it rides on two O-rings that are large enough to fi...

Barrels
In addition to the LSP barrels, you might want to look at the match barrels made by Lou Lombardi at Falcon Machining. I put one on my Victor many years ago and have never regretted that buy. http://www.falconmachining.com/ Now that I've posted that... and checked, I'm wondering if he is still making...

SXSs
No gun points like a SXS. I have acquired seven of them over time. Four of them are older than I am. There's two old Ithaca Flues, a LeFever, and a Parker DH. I picked up an inexpensive Russian IZH-43 about ten or twelve years ago and only a couple of years ago a Stoeger .410. The last gun is a Navy...

Colt
When I was toying with the idea of Service Rifle competition, I went out and bought a Colt Match Target HBar. I have never regretted that buy. It has been a fine shooter for me. It has never not worked and, during load development, has allowed me to shoot the smallest groups that I have ever shot. S...

I guess if you are going to do shoot an unusual style You are correct. It sure is sad, though, that so many - not this bunch of posters - look at the one-handed shooting stance as unusual. Until I started posting around on different fora, I always understood that "offhand" meant one-hand unsupporte...

Favorite
My favorite is this High Standard Victor. Most often it wears the Falcon match barrel and that old Ultra Dot. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-3/661868/IMG_0391.JPG My favorite CF gun is this old Gold Cup done over a bit by the late George Madore: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-3/661868/IMG_...

The device that you had was/is called the FarrSight. It is no longer made. The Merit is more adjustable and can be more conveniently placed on your glasses in relation to your shooting eye. Another fine diopter device is made by Gehmann and is available for $75 (as is the Merit at $58.00) at Champio...
