Older eyes

Actually I just follow Jeff Cooper's advice.
Forget the rear sight....put the front sight on the target and squeeze the trigger.
Seems to work pretty good so far. Lot quicker also.

YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Finally got to the range last Saturday and put 300 rds through my PT19112 Stainless and went back Sunday for 200 more. Totally FLAWLESS and shoots as smooth as glass. Not one hiccup! Only problem I had was with my 58 yr old eyes and blurry sights but managed to hold the rounds within 4 inches at 25 ...

Didn't even notice the checkering under the trigger guard when I was firing.
It sure handles nicely. I'd heard it's one flaw was the design of the ambi-safety so I went ahead and swapped it out for a left hand only safety.

Taurus 1911 Stainless, new STI left had safety, range time!

Didn't think I'd ever get to the range but finally went today. Before I went, I swapped out the ambi-safety with an STI left handed safety that I got from Midway. Dropped in like it was going home to momma, no fitting required and it functions like it should. Put 300 rounds through the 1911SS and it...

I have to second the Sig 230. She should give one a try, they're very comfortable to shoot for a smaller profile hand. R, Bullseye I carried a PPKS for many years and its a great pistol. But, if you can't find one, I agree with Bullseye. The Sig 230 runs a really close second to the PPKS. Go for it...

Thanks Bullseye. I have 400 rounds waiting for it. Gonna change the ambi safety out for an STI left hand safety and then it'll be ready to give it a good work-out.

Now, it's sitting there at home feeling neglected and I am stuck here at work all night!!! Beautiful finish on it tho and it came with Novak 3 dot sights instead of the Heini...

How hard was it to replace the front sight? Do it yourself? Looks like nice set-up. Were the original sights the Heinie 2 dot system?
Thanks
