Most air rifles have 11mm dovetails.

I was taught to tighten until the threads strip, then back it off a half-turn.

I replaced the rear blade with a square-notch (thanks, Ruger!), but haven't shot it yet with the new blade. Maybe next week. I'll let you know how it does.
