Shot the MKIII with the new scope today. The laser boresighter had it bulls eyed at 100 feet! I still like the red dot better. Target acquisition with the Osprey is definitely much easier! Probably need to give the scope a chance to get to know me!! (Accurate from bench rest – standing not so good) ...

Vortex Crossfire 2x20 EER Pistol Scope
I've just installed a Vortex Crossfire 2x20 EER Pistol Scope on my MKIII Hunter! Ordered the medium-height Vortex rings with the scope, but discovered that removing the rear sight would be necessary to use those. Picked up some Leupold high-height rings, allowing me to leave the rear sight in place....

Well I know I'm a bit late on offering any input since the Ultra Dot Match Dot 30mm from Larry's has already been ordered, but I just wanted to let any future red dot seekers out there to consider the Osprey Holographic Sight. I put one on my MKIII Hunter awhile back & I am extremely pleased. It onl...

A1 Optic Halo Red Dot
I've been researching affordable red dots on the web & found the A1 Optic Halo Red Dot 1x22x33mm with the 7/8" Weaver type mount on sale for only $54.95. (Supposed regular retail price of $149). Anyone have any experience with these? I know the price seems a bit low for a quality sight, but the manu...

Our local Walmarts usually have CCI Minimags, Winchesters, and Remingtons in stock, but no Federals Valupaks to be found anywhere. At the gun show last Saturday, several vendors were asking $25.00 for the valupaks, & $3.00 for the 50 count round nose Federals!!! I noticed also that Cabela's has take...

Great day for shooting!!!
The weather was great in Georgia today!!!! (After much rain). We went to a BIG gun show today in south Atlanta and looked at all the over-priced weapons & ammo available. Fortunately for my wallet, I only walked away with another new magazine for my Ruger! We then went out to the woods to do some ge...

I went out to our rustic shooting range in the woods Saturday & shot approximately 450 rounds of the Winchester Xpert 22 HV with my MKIII Hunter with fairly good results. All the rounds fed & ejected properly, with only one dud that didn't fire. Accuracy was pretty good, considering I was only plink...

I suppose it is wise to do as much research as possible before purchasing ammo that you've never tried before. I just picked-up a 500 count box of the Xpert HV's last night. I wasn't really shopping for cheapness rounds, and have never shot them before, but it was all WalMart had available. I...

VQ extractor put to the test
I went to the range today to test my MKIII Hunter after replacing the extractor. Impressive to say the least! It solved all my jamming problems. Went through over 700 rounds with absolutely ZERO problems. CCI Blazers, Federal Champions, Mini-Mags, even the crappy Remingtons all fired and ejected eff...

Federal Champion Value Pack Hollow Points & MKIII?
I'm looking at this deal on Cabela's site & was curious if anyone has fired these with their MKIII? It looks like a fairly decent deal, but I hesitate to purchase 2100 rounds of something I've never shot. Federal Champion Value Pack - 2,100 rounds of ammo and a Dry-Storage Box for $80. 36-gr. copper...

Mission accomplished!!!! :D Extractor now installed!!! :) As they always say, the only stupid question is the one not asked! GunTalk Online is the greatest!!!! Great learning experience!! I ended up completely removing firing pin stop pin (the solid type) and had the firing pin, rebound spring and g...

Extractor replacement question
Is there a trick to getting the scribe or other pointed tool between the plunger & claw? I got my new VQ Extractor today & am following the excellent instructions, but I can't seem to get between the spring plunger & extractor (that's one strong spring!) Tried a stainless dental pick, jeweler's scre...
