This is very unusual. Many Bullseye shooters (myself included) NEVER clean the bore of a 22 pistol just the chamber and action. I have fired in excess of 30,000 rounds and no leading of the bore. Bullseye: I shoot the unit 1. It can be made to lock back by using stock un modified Colt Ace type magazines but the slide stop notch will be damaged very quickly. I like to use Cienner magazines as they feed well and are much easier to load with my hands. The Cienner mags do not lock the slide back...
