Older Marlin lever action rifle
Need some info on a recent marlin 39a lever action .22 I traded for. At first I thought it was an older model 39 because of its case-hardened receiver but it has a round barrel instead of an octagon one. The barrel is marked "39a" and the rifle has a very low serial no. of 4xx and looks to be about ...

m-1 carbine out of control
Recently while target shooting with my 30 cal military m-1 carbine with a 15 round magazine, the carbine went into an uncontrollable full auto in the last 5 or 6 rounds until the magzine was empty. Needless to say, the rifle has been grounded until a repair has been made. What could have possibly ca...

Nikon prostaff shotgun scope used Marlin 39a.
Recently at a gunshow I bought a like new Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32 scope to use on my Marlin 39a .22 rifle and later found out that was listed by Nikon as a shotgun scope. It has normal plex crosshairs. What is the difference and will it perform ok on my Marlin?

bolt removal for winchester 121
Cannot figure out how to remove the bolt to disassemble a winchester model 121. I pulled the trigger back but the bolt will not come out.

addressing small rust pit marks on rifle receiver
I have a Ruger No.1A rifle in unfired condition that I recently acquirred at a very reasonable price. It has beautiful wood and is in a caliber that I have been looking for (7 x 57). The only fault is a slight rust pitting where the stock wood interfaces with the receiver. That's why I got it at a l...

need disassembly infoormation
I recently acquirred a 25acp browning patent pistol manufactured by FN in belgium. From what I can figure out I think it's a 1905 model. The problem I'm having is how to keep the slide open for cleaning and how to disassemble this piece. It has no thumb safety but only has a grip safety. The slide w...

Argentine Colt 45acp problem
The type of Argentine I have does not have any sort of "dog leg" slide release. There are two other types of Argentine 1911's. One was made by the Colt factory in the U.S. for Argentina and the other was called a "Ballesta Molina" made by a Brazillian factory. Maybe one of those has the "dog leg" sl...

Argentine Colt 45acp problem
I have an Argentine 1911A1 1927 45acp DGFM-FMAP pistol that was made in Argentina using Colt machinery and personnel. I tried to install a Colt aftermarket extended safety and an extended slide release to no avail. Aren't all Colt parts interchangeable with this pistol? I know not all Colt parts are...

Shooting .38spl in a .357 revolver
I have been shooting .38 spl ammo in my Ruger Blackhawk .357 for over five years and was told recently by a gun salesman that it wasn't very good for the gun. Is there any truth to this?

What is the difference between case-hardened and case-colored gun parts and how are they processed? Some say there is a significant difference.

case-colored receiver on winchester 9422 .22lr
A friend has a 9422 .22 cal winchester that has a case-colored receiver. He said they made very few like this and they were quite rare and expensive but didn't say what he paid for his. I could not find anything like this in the latest "Blue Book" and was wondering if the gun was genuine or was an a...

confusion regarding barrel diameter of OM ruger .22's
It is my understanding that the barrel diameter of Ruger single-sixes furnished with the extra magnum cylinder is .224 to accomodate the larger diameter magnum cartridge. My question is if your revolver is an older model single-six that was not furnished with an extra mag cylinder is the barrel diam...
